Terms & conditions
These terms describe use of this website and general service arrangements. Transportation is governed by the accepted written quote or service agreement, applicable bill of lading, any lawfully applicable tariff and applicable law. Website information does not replace those shipment documents. Mandatory law controls any conflict; these website terms do not waive statutory rights or independently create a cargo-liability limitation.
Quotes and booking confirmation
Quote requests and completed forms are inquiries, not confirmed bookings. Rates, equipment, schedules and specialized services remain subject to RSF’s written confirmation. Provide complete and accurate shipment details. Changes to the route, weight, timing, handling or stop requirements may require a revised quote.
Rates and additional charges
Confirm what the written quote includes. Fuel, chassis use, waiting time, detention, demurrage, per diem, additional stops, storage, permits, redelivery, cancellations and other charges may apply where stated in the accepted shipment documents or otherwise lawfully applicable. No free waiting time or flat all-inclusive rate is implied by this website.
Shipment information and loading
Customers must provide accurate cargo descriptions, weights, container and seal numbers, booking or release information, addresses, facility contacts and relevant deadlines. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, loading, unloading, cargo securement, weight distribution and accurate shipper load, weight and count information remain the responsibility of the party performing or arranging them. RSF may decline or pause a move that cannot be performed safely or lawfully.
Hazmat, bonded and refrigerated cargo
Disclose hazardous materials, in-bond status and refrigeration requirements before booking. Supply required shipping papers, classifications, customs movement instructions and other applicable documentation. For reefers, provide temperature settings and written operating instructions and confirm required power or monitoring arrangements with RSF. Listing these services does not guarantee availability or acceptance of a particular shipment.
Live handling, dropped equipment and returns
Live loading or unloading requires site access and a ready facility. Drop and pick requires an appropriate site and an agreed retrieval plan. Protect equipment while in your possession, record condition and seal exceptions, and notify RSF promptly when a container is ready for pickup. Responsibility for equipment damage, detention, demurrage and per diem is governed by the shipment documents and applicable law. An empty-ready notification does not itself stop third-party charges.
Schedules and third parties
Requested dates, estimated arrival times and routing are subject to confirmation. Port congestion, terminal restrictions, customs holds, carrier releases, weather, traffic and equipment availability can affect performance. RSF does not guarantee vessel schedules, customs release or the conduct of ocean carriers and terminals.
Payment
Follow the payment terms in the accepted shipment documents. The downloadable RSF BL states payment within seven days except COD and advance charges due at tender, and includes provisions concerning overdue balances and collection costs. Those provisions apply only to the extent agreed and legally enforceable; the website does not impose separate late fees.
Cargo value, insurance and claims
Review cargo-liability and declared-value provisions with RSF before tendering cargo. The downloadable BL contains declared-value language; its legal effect depends on the applicable law and shipment agreement. A website visit or form download is not acceptance of a released value. Cargo insurance is not automatically included. Request any desired higher-value arrangement or separate insurance in writing before shipment.
Report apparent loss, damage, seal discrepancies or equipment defects promptly and document exceptions at delivery. Submit any formal claim under the applicable contract and law. A delivery notation or operational email may not constitute a complete cargo claim. Nothing here shortens a statutory claim or suit period.
Website, documents and intellectual property
Information may change and is provided for general service planning. Downloadable forms must be reviewed before use. Do not misuse the site or copy RSF branding or website content without permission, except to prepare shipment documents or where law permits. No ocean-carrier or terminal endorsement is implied.
